Rody Whitfield's Bio:
Rody Whitfield plays guitar and has participated in BURN. Serenada near the San Gabriel in Georgetown, TX. Also, Rody has participated with the worship teams at River of Life in Georgetown, TX, Tree of Life in Pflugerville, TX, Church of the Hills in Cedar Park, TX. Rody's favorite guitars are the 1974 Gibson SG and a 2008 Gibson Les Paul. Rody's current amplifier is an Egnater Rebel 30 head running through the cabinet simulator to a powered monitor, as the tubes tend to warm up the tone and having the direct output, Rody feels the tone to sound system output is more thoroughly translated. Recent addition to the rig is a Line6 M13 stompbox simulator. The benefit to using that set up is the time delayed effects can be looped preamp, while the distortion and drive effects run through the amp. This helps keep the sound clearer.Spending time each day working on songs and getting into worship space during those songs, an idea keeps coming up to stream the worship time to include others where Rody and whoever spend time worshipping to those songs. Would be interesting to see if and how the prophetic flows during that time.
Acoustic guitar is a Takamine. The acoustic guitar seems to have a whole different feel. While both electric and acoustic guitars use the same scales and notes, the way they are played and the expression they create is quite different. They really are like two completely different instruments. Rody prefers electric over acoustic, as the dynamics are easier to engage on an electric guitar.
